Technical product informationMaterials Wood is a warm and living material. The characteristic colours and patterns make it unique and beautiful. The structure and appearance of the wood depend on where it has grown, the soil, the climate and the age of the wood. Veneering - All raw materials used in products in the Timantti collection (particle board, veneer, plywood) comply to strict E1 norms. - All Timantti products are veneered with genuine natural wood veneer. - Particle board that is veneered lengthways is twice as strong as unveneered particle board. Veneered shelving boards are therefore superior to other surface solutions. - The veneers are sorted according to their use: the best veneers are used for doors, drawers and tops. Characteristic natural bead knots and whirls are acceptable in top-quality veneer. - In furniture made of beech, only first-class veneer is used for the visible parts. There may not be any discolouring or dark knots, only tiny knots are allowed. Some brown veining is characteristic of beech. - Birch furniture uses light veneer made from the surface layers of the wood. Brownish veins and visible pores are characteristics of birch. - Mahogany and oak furniture veneer is stained, so colour variations and the effects of sunlight are minor. The edges are stained manually, which can result in some variation, because the wood absorbs stain to different degrees. The company prefers natural veneer suppliers that are committed to replanting the forests. Backboards - Genuine veneer backboards are used in birch, mahogany and cherry coloured furniture. Hardboard with wood-effect surface is used in beech and oak furniture. Packages - All Timantti products are packaged in sturdy cardboard boxes to minimise damage in transportation and to prevent discoloration from sunlight during storage. - The packages are 100% recyclable. Instructions All Timantti products are shipped with assembly, use and care instructions.
